The home run king

I wanted to post something brief about Alex Rodriguez hitting number 600 today. In my opinion, there should be no celebration. The steroid era is just a period of cheating in the game. Some may say Baseball is rich with era’s of cheating. Maybe so. However, no other period represents all that is wrong with the “entertainment” aspect of professional sports. A-Rod cheated, McGwire cheated, Palmeiro cheated, Canseco cheated, Clemens cheated, Petite cheated, you get my point. I understand Rodriguez admitted to using steroids, however that does not absolve him of the fact we will never know how many of his home runs are legitimate. 2010 has become the season of the pitcher. Well, of course it has. Home runs are down. Of course this is the case. The cheats are finally off the juice so the once long ball is now what it really should be, a double or triple. Hopefully, the worst is behind us and we can enjoy the game that is baseball.

Agree? Disagree? Let me know what you think.
